Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership & Strategic Growth

  • Lead VFT with a strong vision and Christian values, ensuring financial inclusion benefits families and children in rural Tanzania.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to support both financial sustainability and social impact.
  • Oversee the transition process into a regulated deposit-taking institution.
  • Build a high-performance team, fostering accountability, responsibility, and excellence.

2. Financial & Risk Management

  • Ensure effective budgeting, financial projections, and resource management.
  • Maintain portfolio quality while achieving key growth and efficiency targets.
  • Implement risk management frameworks to safeguard deposits and investments.
  • Maintain compliance with all banking and financial regulations set by authorities.

3. Operational Excellence

  • Oversee efficient lending operations, ensuring affordable and accessible financial services.
  • Strengthen internal controls and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Drive digital financial solutions to enhance efficiency and customer outreach.

4. Fundraising & Partnerships

  • Secure funding and investments from donors, creditors, and financial institutions.
  • Collaborate with World Vision and other partners on integrated livelihood programs.
  • Develop networks and alliances to influence economic policies that benefit microfinance.

5. People & Culture

  • Foster a Christ-centered leadership culture that inspires and motivates teams.
  • Recruit and develop top talent, ensuring effective succession planning.
  • Drive a positive work environment that attracts and retains passionate professionals.

Who We’re Looking For

✅ Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Management, or a related field.
10+ years of senior management experience in microfinance, banking, corporate finance, or economic development.
✔ Strong understanding of microfinance industry trends and regulatory frameworks.
✔ Experience managing deposit-taking financial institutions is an added advantage.

Work Environment & Travel

📍 Location: Office-based, with 40% field travel.
Travel: 90% domestic, 10% international.
📞 On-call: Yes, including after business hours.
📄 Work Permit: Required for international applicants.
