At NBC Bank we are currently hiring for Micro SME & Agribusiness Business Growth Officer to join our working environment in Meru, Arusha, Tanzania. As Sellected candidate you will focuses on expanding our Micro SME and Agribusiness portfolio through increasing deposits by driving business growth at the branch level.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Growing the Loan Portfolio
- As sellected candidate at NBC Bank you will be required to identify and onboard eligible by borrowing customers in line with our product guidelines.
- As sellected candidate you will be required to ensure timely conversion into successful business relationships.
- As sellected candidate you will be required to develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers so that to identify new lending opportunities.
- As sellected candidate you will be required to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders so that to protect and promote the bank interests.
2. Credit Assessment and Underwriting
- As sellected candidate you will be required to review credit applications so that to ensure they meet all required documentation standards.
- As sellected candidate you will be required to work with the Credit Risk Committee
- As sellected candidate you will be required to conduct in depth credit appraisals for Micro SME & Agribusiness loan applications.
- As sellected candidate you will be required to address any queries from the Head Office regarding loan applications.
3. Loan Portfolio Management
- As sellected candidate you will be required to ensure approved loans basing on agreed terms and conditions.
- As sellected candidate you will be required to maintain thorough documentation by ensuring proper record keeping.
- As sellected candidate you will be required to proactively monitor loan performance and recommend necessary actions.
4. Deposit Mobilization and Cross-Selling
- As sellected candidate you will be required to actively source deposits from new and existing Micro SME & Agribusiness clients.
- As sellected candidate you will be required to serve as a key liaison between customers and various bank departments.
5. Capacity Building and Customer Advisory
- As sellected candidate you will be required to organize marketing and training sessions for the potential and existing customers.
- As sellected candidate you will be required to conduct awareness campaigns so that to educate customers and branch teams on product offerings.
- As sellected candidate you will be required to provide expert financial advice to clients.

What are We Looking For
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor or Masters degree in Agri-business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Marketing or related.
- At least 3 years of working experience in Micro SME & Agribusiness.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Strong in decision making and problem solving skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with commercial focus.
- Excellent relationship building
- Ability to adapt to changes and able to work under pressure.
- Strong negotiation skills
