Role Overview

As a Brewery Controller, you will play a critical role in ensuring financial excellence, operational discipline, and compliance at the brewery. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain accurate financial reporting, cost control, and asset management, while providing insights to support strategic decision-making.

Your contributions will help drive cost efficiency, transparency, and overall business performance, ensuring the brewery operates smoothly and profitably.


Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Management & Reporting

✔ Oversee the brewery’s financial closing cycle, ensuring accuracy in reporting key figures such as transfer pricing, variable costs (VIC/VLC), and plant asset bookings.
✔ Ensure first-time-right financial postings, preventing manual accounting errors.
✔ Manage inventory and capital expenditure (CAPEX) in compliance with IFRS and internal policies.
✔ Analyze cost variances, yields, and consumptions to drive efficiency.

2. Internal Controls & Compliance

✔ Act as the first line of defense for financial controls at the brewery.
✔ Ensure compliance with internal control policies regarding asset bookings, procurement, and inventory management.
✔ Conduct regular stock counts, reconciliations, and physical verification of assets.
✔ Maintain compliance with tax regulations, working closely with the tax team for timely filings and audits.
✔ Oversee returnable packaging and co-product accounting to ensure accuracy.

3. Business Support & Strategy

✔ Collaborate with Operations, Financial Planning, and PPM teams to provide financial insights for forecasts and budgeting.
✔ Support strategic decision-making by providing analysis on costs, profitability, and financial risks.
✔ Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risks.

4. Tax & Regulatory Compliance

✔ Manage internal and external tax reporting, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
✔ Work closely with the tax compliance team to handle inquiries and inspections from local authorities.
✔ Ensure excise tax validation and manage excise rebate processes with regulatory bodies.

Required Qualifications & Experience

📌 Educational Background:
🎓 Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or CA.

📌 Work Experience:
2-3+ years of experience in financial management, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments.
✔ Previous experience in controlling, cost accounting, or financial planning is a plus.

📌 Technical Skills:
Knowledge of SAP, Syspro, Business Warehouse, or Anaplan is highly desirable.
✔ Strong understanding of financial controls, tax regulations, and IFRS compliance.
