Role Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Financial Controller – Brewery to ensure financial excellence, implement robust controls, and foster accountability at our brewery. This role is crucial in maintaining the reliability of cost accounting figures and profit and loss (P&L) reporting. Additionally, you will focus on enhancing operational discipline and improving visibility for price and performance ahead of month-end closing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the plant’s closing cycle, ensuring accurate and reliable results, including transfer pricing, VIC/VLC, ZBB, and asset booking.
- Ensure first-time-right postings and prevent accounting errors and manual journal entries.
- Oversee plant inventory and capital expenditure (CAPEX), ensuring compliance with booking procedures and internal processes.
- Guarantee that asset bookings adhere to PRC and IFRS standards while maintaining internal control policies.
- Act as the first line of defense in executing controls as per internal guidelines.
- Ensure that brewery controls reflect operational realities, including PR-GR cycle, co-product lifecycle, and returnable package management.
- Supervise internal and external tax reporting, coordinating with the tax team to ensure timely filings and compliance with local authority requirements.
- Support brewery operations and financial planning teams by providing forecast inputs for LE & 1YP.
- Analyze costs, yield variances, and consumptions to optimize performance.
- Ensure the accuracy and reasonability of accruals and reconcile utility costs (water, electricity, effluent) between internal and municipal readings.
- Manage GRN compliance, open PO management, and UOM receipting accuracy.
- Conduct root cause analysis on reallocation journals to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
- Approve journals while ensuring DAG compliance.
- Maintain accurate accounting and controls for co-products and returnable packaging.
- Reconcile MBFU recharges (missing, broken, foreign, and unwashable glass).
- Oversee inventory management for finished goods (FG), raw materials (RM), and spare parts.
- Enforce stock count controls, including quarterly reviews and reconciliation.
- Investigate stock movement anomalies and ensure proper capitalization of assets.
- Validate and physically verify assets, identify impairments, and ensure appropriate bookings.
- Ensure compliance with ZBB and UPP policies.
- Manage invoicing and oversee internal and external tax reporting.
- Validate excise calculations and liaise with regulatory authorities for compliance.
- Work closely with the Business Control Center (BCC) tax team for tax filings and inspections.
- Build and maintain a strong network within HQ tax, BCC tax, compliance, and planning teams.
- Provide strategic financial insights for forecasting and planning.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or CA qualification.
- 2–3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proficiency in SAP/Syspro, Business Warehouse, and Anaplan is a plus.
- Strong background in financial controlling, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
