Your Role as a Brand Manager
As a Brand Manager at Watu Tanzania, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring marketing strategies that enhance brand visibility and communication. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive brand awareness, develop PR campaigns, and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Strategy & Marketing Execution
- Oversee and manage the Watu brand in Tanzania, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Develop and implement PR and marketing campaigns to enhance brand recognition.
- Lead project management for all brand-related initiatives, ensuring timely execution and high-quality standards.
- Foster media relations by engaging with journalists, bloggers, and influencers to secure positive coverage.
- Coordinate content production to maintain cost-effective, high-quality brand materials.
Strategic Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with media, agencies, and industry partners to maximize brand exposure.
- Work closely with internal teams, including leadership, to align marketing efforts with overall business objectives.
- Promote brand immersion within the company by engaging employees in Watu’s vision and mission.
Performance Tracking & Data Analysis
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for PR campaigns, media coverage, and digital marketing efforts.
- Generate media monitoring reports, providing insights and recommendations for brand strategy improvements.
- Collaborate with the finance team to analyze marketing spend, ensuring cost efficiency and strong return on investment (ROI).
- Oversee brand spend reports, tracking budget utilization and performance impact.
Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Manage relationships with external agencies, ensuring timely and quality service delivery.
- Monitor brand messaging to ensure consistency across all media platforms.
- Oversee production requests with the procurement team, ensuring alignment with quality standards and timelines.
- Participate in performance appraisals, team reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in brand management, marketing, or project management.
- Strong familiarity with the Tanzanian market and consumer landscape.
Skills & Competencies
- Leadership and team management skills to drive successful marketing initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities, with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools such as Google Analytics, social media management platforms, and email marketing software.
- Creative thinking and a problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
