Key Responsibilities

• Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all workplace safety protocols, including attending mandatory safety training.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and report any safety concerns.
  • Conduct risk assessments (JHA, FLRA) before starting tasks.
• Maintenance & Repairs
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical systems in mining equipment such as SANDVIK, CAT, and NORMET.
  • Ensure mobile equipment is maintained safely and cost-effectively.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and complete work orders on time.
  • Follow OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) repair procedures and training guidelines.
  • Keep records of work performed and report to supervisors.
• Technical & Operational Support
  • Assist in developing training programs for the local workforce.
  • Monitor and optimize auto electrical maintenance activities to reduce inefficiencies.
  • Support the team in achieving maintenance targets and business objectives.
  • Research and implement new technologies to improve auto electrical operations.
• Additional Duties
  • Assist in basic mechanical fitting, rubber lining, scaffolding, and rigging as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Conduct regular plant and steel structure inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Assist with inventory management, ensuring required tools and parts are available.
  • Participate in shift handovers and maintain communication with team members.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education:
  • Secondary education is required.
  • Technical/vocational training such as FTC, VETA, IMTT Trade Test, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Certification in air conditioning systems repairs is an advantage.
• Experience & Skills:
  • Minimum of 3 years in an auto electrical maintenance role within the mining industry.
  • Strong understanding of mining safety regulations and best practices.
  • Experience in auto electrical maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repairing air conditioning systems.
  • Physical stamina and strength to handle demanding tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good time management and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to operate various tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
