Join Our Team: Assistant Manager – Safety & Loss Prevention
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Manager – Safety & Loss Prevention who will play a pivotal role in upholding our standards of security and guest safety. This position not only ensures the safety of our guests and team members but also upholds the reputation of our Lodge as a secure and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Oversee daily operations of the security team, ensuring that every guest, employee, and asset is safe and secure.
- Staff Management: Recruit, train, schedule, and guide security personnel, while conducting performance reviews and ensuring adherence to all security protocols.
- Policy and Crisis Management: Develop, implement, and continuously update Security Policies, Procedures, and Crisis/Emergency Plans. This includes managing emergency responses, physical security measures, information protection, incident management, and first aid protocols.
- Incident Handling: Document, investigate, and resolve incidents—from minor disturbances to serious emergencies—ensuring proper reporting and follow-up with local law enforcement when necessary.
- Emergency Preparedness: Coordinate and conduct regular fire drills, emergency response training, and safety briefings, ensuring that the Lodge is always prepared for unforeseen events.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to resolve guest or employee concerns and maintain clear communication within the Lodge.
Additional Duties
- Manage key and alarm systems, including inventory control and regular reviews.
- Chair the Safety Committee meetings in the absence of the Director of Safety & Loss Prevention.
- Support other departments as needed, including temporary assignments at our Arusha logistics center.

Qualifications and Skills
- Education: High School Diploma is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a security role at a supervisory or assistant manager level, preferably with hospitality industry experience.
- Certifications: First Aid certification is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) and the ability to operate Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Personal Qualities: Excellent organizational skills, strong administrative abilities, and a calm, decisive approach in emergency situations.
- Professionalism: A commitment to maintaining a neat, professional appearance and fostering effective relationships with colleagues and external partners.
