The British High Commission (BHC) in Dar es Salaam is seeking a dedicated TWG Assistant/Gardener to join our Technical Works Group (TWG) team. This role is ideal for a hardworking and detail-oriented individual with experience in gardening and landscaping.

About the Role
As a TWG Assistant/Gardener, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the gardens and outdoor spaces of the British High Commission’s office and residential properties. You will be responsible for ensuring the gardens remain in excellent condition, following a well-structured maintenance schedule.
This position requires physical work, teamwork, and the ability to use gardening tools (training will be provided for electrical tools). You must also be able to identify maintenance needs, report issues, and work efficiently with colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Maintain and manage a large garden, ensuring it remains well-kept and visually appealing.
✅ Develop and follow a gardening schedule to maintain plants, trees, and lawns.
✅ Use and maintain gardening tools and equipment (training provided for electrical tools).
✅ Work closely with other team members to plan and complete tasks efficiently.
✅ Identify and report risks or necessary maintenance work beyond your scope.
✅ Support additional maintenance tasks, including swimming pool upkeep.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
✔ Previous experience in managing a large garden.
✔ Knowledge of various plants and gardening techniques.
✔ Ability to work well with others and contribute to a team environment.
Desirable Qualifications & Skills
➕ Experience using power tools for garden maintenance.
➕ Ability to create and follow work schedules independently.
