About Dar es Salaam Tumaini University (DarTU)
Dar es Salaam Tumaini University (DarTU) officially became a fully accredited university in January 2024 which evolved from Tumaini University Dar es Salaam College (TUDARCo) which is a main campus, that was brought up in 2003.
The institution can be traced back from 1997 when it was initially founded at that time known as Waldorf College Tanzania (WCT). It was named this name on the history that can be traced from 2001 when Waldorf College Council decided to increase its operations in Tanzania hence it had to transfer WCT to the Eastern and Coastal Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ECD-ELCT). Therefore this transition integrated the college into the Tumaini University network and on April 1, 2003 the institute was then officially renamed Tumaini University Dar es Salaam College (TUDARCo).
As part from the Tumaini University family but also TUDARCo joined other constituent colleges such as Makumira, KCMUCo and Iringa University College. Over the years Tumaini University has grown into a reputable institution hence leading to its transformation into Dar es Salaam Tumaini University (DarTU).
