The College of Business Education (CBE) is inviting applications from qualified and competent Tanzanians to fill vacant positions on a one-year renewable contract. Established by an Act of Parliament (Act No. 315 R.E 2002), CBE is a public higher learning institution offering training, research, and consultancy in Accountancy, Procurement & Supplies, Marketing Management, Metrology and Standardization, ICT, and other business-related disciplines.
To strengthen its academic and administrative functions, the College is seeking dedicated professionals to fill the following positions:
1. Position: Office Management Secretary II (13 Posts)
1.1 Entry Qualifications
Candidates must have:
✔ A Form IV or Form VI certificate.
✔ A Diploma in Secretarial Studies (NTA Level 6).
✔ Proficiency in Shorthand (English) and Hati Mkato (Kiswahili) at a speed of 100 words per minute.
✔ Strong computer skills with knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Publisher, Internet, and Email, obtained from a recognized institution.
1.2 Key Responsibilities
As an Office Management Secretary II, the selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Receiving, managing, and distributing incoming letters and correspondence.
- Welcoming visitors and directing them to relevant officials.
- Maintaining records of key events such as appointments, meetings, and travel schedules, while ensuring timely reminders.
- Handling telephone calls, files, and messages, ensuring proper communication flow.
- Providing essential support and information to officers as required.
- Managing office supplies and ensuring proper inventory control.
- Organizing and preparing documents for departmental meetings.
- Assisting in official meetings by providing support services.
- Reporting faulty office equipment and following up on repairs or replacements.
- Identifying office requirements and coordinating procurement processes.
- Typing confidential and official documents as assigned by the supervisor.
- Performing any other related duties as directed by superiors.
1.3 Salary Scale
The position falls under PGSS 4 salary scale, in accordance with government regulations.
